Vida Liu is a Los Angeles based artist. She grew up in Hong Kong, Vancouver, and Los Angeles. After graduating from USC with a Business Administration degree, Vida worked in the financial industry for many years. Motivated by an irrepressible passion for arts, she later returned to school and received a B.A. in Studio Arts from the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine. She subsequently obtained her MFA degree from the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media and Communication at California State University, Northridge.

Her current body of work explores human perception and sensations triggered by excess consumption and hoarding. Her interest in these areas is inspired by the deeply intersected physical, psychological, social, and economic forces encapsulated in consumer goods in today’s society. She hopes to contribute to the community by drawing from her experience as a banker, an artist, and an educator. Vida is currently teaching and practicing art in Los Angeles.
